Nasdaq-listed MasterBeef Group signs Thai tea and dessert brand into Hong Kong and Macau

MasterBeef Group, a Nasdaq-listed restaurant operator known for Taiwanese hotpot and barbecue, has entered a franchise agreement with a premium Thai tea and dessert brand to bring the concept to Hong Kong and Macau. The agreement, dated June 17, 2026 and disclosed publicly in mid-July, targets an initial three outlets across the two markets within 24 months.

The Thai brand has built its identity around a contemporary café atmosphere in Bangkok's shopping and lifestyle districts, with a focused menu centered on signature Thai tea, creative iced-tea variations and plated desserts. For MasterBeef, the deal marks a diversification beyond its core Taiwanese hotpot and barbecue business into the beverage and dessert segment — a category that has drawn a wave of franchise interest across Asia this year.

The structure is a familiar one in Asian cross-border franchising: a company with distribution and real estate relationships in a new market takes on local development rights, while the original brand supplies the recipes, training and brand system. It is the same model that has carried Korean coffee chains into Southeast Asia and Vietnamese tea brands into South Asia in recent months.

No opening date for the first outlet has been disclosed beyond the 24-month development window named in the agreement.
