India's Blue Tokai opens first Middle East café in Dubai through master franchise deal

Blue Tokai Coffee Roasters, one of India's best-known specialty coffee chains, opened its first café outside South Asia on July 21, 2026, taking over a unit at BurJuman Mall in Dubai. The launch marks the brand's entry into the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region under a master franchise agreement with Ambrosia Gulf, part of the Ambrosia Foods group and backed by mid-market investment firm Pulsar Capital.
Ambrosia Gulf already operates the Indian biryani chain Biryani By Kilo in the region, giving it an existing operating platform for cross-border South Asian food and beverage brands entering the GCC. Beyond cafés, the partnership plans to distribute Blue Tokai's packaged coffee through hotel, restaurant and café (HoReCa) channels and direct-to-consumer sales across the Gulf.
The companies have outlined plans to grow the footprint to more than ten cafés across the region over the coming years, with a second UAE location reportedly already in the pipeline. The move adds Blue Tokai to a small but growing list of South and Southeast Asian food and beverage brands using a master franchise structure to enter the Gulf, a market where rising demand for specialty coffee has drawn international operators in recent years.
For Blue Tokai, the deal extends a brand built on India's domestic specialty coffee boom into a new consumer base with a large South Asian expatriate population already familiar with the label — a common bridge market for Indian brands making their first move abroad.
